Sunon 12 cm dual ball bearing fan

The Sunon PMD2412PMB1-A is a 12 cm case fan built with dual ball bearings for long service life in continuous operation. It runs on a 24 V supply and draws 18.2 W, making it suited for industrial chassis, server enclosures or workstation builds that use 24 V power distribution. The three-wire lead provides a tachometer signal so the host system can monitor fan speed in real time.

Thermals noise and power draw

At 18.2 W the fan delivers strong airflow while keeping power draw predictable for 24 V rail budgeting. Dual ball bearings reduce friction compared with sleeve designs, helping to limit acoustic output during sustained high-speed running. The motor is rated for continuous duty, so thermal performance remains stable in densely packed enclosures where airflow restriction is common.

Questions about this item

How is the 24 V dual ball bearing fan installed and what step is often missed?

Connect the three-wire lead to a 24 V header, secure the 12 cm frame with four screws, and ensure the tachometer wire is seated so speed reporting works.

What maintenance will the dual ball bearing fan need later?

The dual ball bearings are sealed for life; no lubrication is required, but clean dust from the blades periodically to maintain the 18.2 W airflow rating.
