Compact 2.5 cm case fan for tight builds

This 5 V double-ball-bearing fan suits small-form-factor cases, embedded boards and low-profile coolers where space is at a premium. Its 2510 footprint and 0.09 A draw let it run directly from a standard motherboard header without extra wiring. Buyers needing higher airflow or larger mounting holes should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The double ball bearing keeps friction low so the motor stays quiet at typical speeds while moving enough air for chipset or VRM cooling. At 0.09 A the fan adds negligible load to a 5 V rail and generates minimal heat of its own. No PWM or speed curve data is supplied so acoustic behaviour under load cannot be specified.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5 cm 5V fan and which step do people get wrong?

Connect the two-wire lead to a 5 V header observing polarity; the common mistake is reversing the wires, which prevents the double-ball bearing motor from starting.

What maintenance or replacement will the 2510 double ball fan need later?

The double ball bearings are rated for long life; expect only occasional dust removal from the 2.5 cm frame and no lubrication.
