80 mm 12 V 3-wire case fan

This 80 by 80 by 25 mm fan runs on 12 V DC and draws 0.4 A through a three-wire connector. It is built for server and workstation chassis that require a compact axial cooler with standard voltage control. The slim 25 mm profile fits tight bays where thicker units cannot be installed. Buyers needing PWM speed regulation or a four-pin header will not be served by this model.

Three-wire voltage control

The three-wire interface provides tachometer feedback while speed is managed by varying the supply voltage. Motherboards or fan controllers that only offer PWM duty-cycle control cannot adjust this fan automatically. Verify that your system supports voltage-based regulation before purchase. Installers who require a four-pin PWM connector should select a different cooler.

Questions about this item

What does the 0.4 A draw mean for my power supply?

The fan pulls 0.4 A from the 12 V rail, a very small load that any standard supply can handle without issue.

What does the 3-wire connection limit for speed control?

The 3-wire plug reports RPM but cannot accept PWM signals, so the motherboard can only vary voltage to change speed.
