Buyers needing a different form factor

This fan is shaped for the specific chassis of the listed Eee PC models. It will not fit laptops outside the 1011 and 1015 families. Builders assembling a desktop or repairing another brand should look for a cooler that matches their socket and mounting layout. Users wanting a larger heatsink or dual-fan assembly will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I install the CPU cooling fan in my ASUS Eee PC 1011 or 1015 series netbook, and what step is often missed?

Remove the bottom cover, disconnect the old fan cable from the motherboard header, swap the fan assembly, reconnect the cable firmly, and reassemble; the step often missed is not seating the connector fully, which leaves the fan dead on first boot

What maintenance or replacement will this CPU cooling fan need later?

Clean dust from the heatsink fins and fan blades with compressed air whenever buildup is visible; replace the fan if the bearing becomes noisy or airflow drops noticeably
