Pair of 40 mm 12 V case fans

This set contains two 4020 chassis fans that measure 40 by 40 by 20 mm and run on a 12 V supply. They are aimed at builders who need compact airflow for tight spaces such as small form factor cases, rackmount units or industrial enclosures. The double ball bearing design targets users who prioritise long running life over absolute silence.

Double ball bearing durability

The twin ball bearing arrangement reduces wear compared with sleeve alternatives, extending service intervals in continuous operation. Supplied as a matched pair, the fans let you populate intake and exhaust positions simultaneously for balanced pressure. No extra cables, adapters or speed controllers are included, so installers must provide their own 12 V headers or fan hubs.

Questions about this item

How long will the double ball bearings last before they need replacement?

Double ball bearings typically run for tens of thousands of hours; lifespan depends on operating temperature and duty cycle.

What is the first limit reached during continuous operation at 12V?

The motor's thermal limit determines sustained performance; airflow and noise stabilise once the bearing temperature equilibrates.
