MacBook Pro A1278 cooling fan replacement

This new CPU cooler fan fits Apple MacBook Pro models A1278, A1342 and part numbers MB466, MB467, MB990 and MB991 from 2009 through 2012. It restores original airflow when the factory fan fails or becomes noisy. Installers should verify the exact board revision before fitting.

Practical limits of laptop fan repair

The fan only cools the single internal heatsink; it cannot address thermal issues caused by degraded paste, blocked vents or a failing heat pipe. Buyers who need a complete thermal rebuild or a quieter aftermarket design will not be served by this direct‑replacement part.
