SKU CH-B8KW-769HK

A 40 mm square case fan running on 12 V with a 0.06 A draw and three-wire connection

  • Compact 40 mm square frame fits tight server bays
  • 12 V DC supply powers directly from standard headers
  • Low 0.06 A draw reduces system power load
  • 3-wire connection enables RPM monitoring control

Compact 40 mm server fan

The Fans MF40H-12A is a 40 mm square case fan designed for server chassis and tight equipment enclosures. It runs on 12 V DC and draws 0.06 A through a standard three-wire connection. The slim 10 mm profile fits shallow mounting spaces where larger fans cannot be installed.

Low-airflow spot cooling

This fan suits targeted airflow tasks such as voltage-regulator heatsinks, small network appliances or auxiliary GPU brackets. It does not deliver the static pressure or volume needed for CPU tower coolers, radiator stacks or high-wattage workstation builds. Builders needing higher CFM or PWM speed control should select a larger model.

Questions about this item

Will the 3-wire connector on this 40x40mm fan work with the 4-pin headers on my older motherboard?

The 3-wire connector fits a 4-pin header by leaving the fourth pin unused; the fan will run at full 12V speed but PWM control is not available.

How can I confirm the fan is spinning correctly once installed?

At 12V the fan draws 0.06A; you can verify operation by feeling airflow from the 40x40x10mm frame or checking the RPM reading in BIOS or monitoring software.
