Compact 40 mm case fan

The Fans MGT4012XB-R28 is a 40 x 40 x 28 mm case fan that runs on 12 V and draws 0.25 A. Its three-wire connection allows speed monitoring for basic thermal control. The square frame suits tight chassis corners and small-form-factor enclosures.

Builders needing low-profile airflow

This fan suits builds where a 40 mm footprint is the only option, such as compact industrial boxes or mini-ITX layouts with restricted clearance. Buyers who need higher static pressure, larger airflow volumes or PWM speed regulation should look at alternative cooling solutions.

Questions about this item

Will the 40 mm frame fit the mounting holes on my older 40 mm chassis fan bracket?

The fan measures 40 x 40 x 28 mm, so it matches standard 40 mm mounting patterns used on older brackets.

How can I confirm the 12 V 0.25 A fan is spinning correctly after I connect the three-wire lead?

The third wire provides a tachometer signal; plug it into a motherboard fan header and check the reported RPM in BIOS or monitoring software.
