What this mouse does

The Fantech Kanata VX9 is a wired gaming mouse with a 3600 DPI optical sensor and on-the-fly switching from 400 to 3600 DPI. It tracks at 30 IPS with 8 G acceleration using an A603EP chipset. The ambidextrous shape weighs 77 g and measures 122x67x40 mm. Huano switches are rated for 5 million clicks and the scroll encoder for 300000 cycles. Seven lighting effects are built in.

Who it suits and who it doesn't

The symmetrical design fits left- and right-handed users who want a lightweight wired pointer with adjustable sensitivity. Six programmable buttons cover most MOBA and FPS layouts. Buyers who want wireless freedom, a higher DPI ceiling, more side buttons, or software-driven macro layers should look elsewhere.

Behaviour under sustained use

The 77 g shell and Teflon feet keep glide consistent during long sessions. Huano switches maintain click feel over the 5 million rated cycles. The fixed cable eliminates battery drop-outs, so tracking stays stable at 30 IPS without latency spikes. Heat buildup is minimal because the sensor draws little power and the open base allows airflow.

Questions about this item

What USB port does the Fantech Kanata VX9 need on my PC?

It uses a standard USB Type-A connection; plug the wired cable into any free USB port on Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X 15.X and it works without extra drivers.

Will the 3600 DPI sensor keep up with an older mechanical mouse I still use for browsing?

The A603EP chipset tracks at up to 30 IPS and 8G acceleration, so fast swipes stay precise even if your older mouse tops out at lower speeds.

How can I confirm the 7 lighting effects are cycling after I plug it in?

The RGB zones will shift through all seven preset patterns automatically; press the DPI button to see the indicator colour change at each 400-3600 step.
