Shaded-pole HVAC fan motor delivers 1/20 hp at 1500 rpm on 230 V single-phase power with a 3.3 frame and auto thermal protection
The FASCO D188 is a shaded-pole fan and blower motor rated at 1/20 hp and 1500 RPM for 230V AC single-phase supply. It fits a 3.3 frame with stud mounting and a steel frame, making it a direct replacement for compatible HVAC air-moving equipment. The motor delivers 40 W output at .9 A full-load current and operates at 60 Hz.
Continuous running is governed by the Class B insulation and a maximum ambient temperature of 40 Degrees C. The auto-reset thermal protector interrupts power if internal temperature rises excessively, then restores it once the motor cools. A service factor of 1 means the motor is not designed for continuous overload beyond the 1/20 hp nameplate rating.
The motor is not usable at 208V or 200V; it requires a 230V AC supply for proper operation. The open air-over enclosure depends on airflow from the driven fan or blower for cooling, so it must be installed in an application that provides that airflow. Rotation is fixed as CWSE when viewed from the shaft end.

The motor draws 0.9 A at 230 V with a 1.0 service factor and Class B insulation rated for 40 °C ambient, so heat rise stays modest; the open air-over enclosure and single-speed shaded-pole design keep acoustic output low during all-day operation.
You need a 230 V AC single-phase 60 Hz circuit — it is not usable at 208 V or 200 V — and stud-mount brackets that match the 3.3 frame steel housing; the shaft rotates clockwise viewed from the shaft end.
Yes, if the original wheel fits a 3.3 frame stud-mount motor with clockwise shaft-end rotation and the load does not exceed 40 W at 1500 RPM; the auto thermal protection will trip if the old assembly overloads the motor.
