Direct-drive HVAC motor for residential airflow

The FASCO D602 is a shaded-pole blower motor rated at 1/50 HP and 1500 rpm on 115 V AC single phase. It suits replacement jobs in furnaces, air handlers or exhaust fans where a compact direct-drive unit is specified. The 3.3-inch frame and 12-inch leads fit many OEM mounting patterns without adaptation.

Totally enclosed air-over construction

A closed-base, totally enclosed air-over enclosure protects windings from dust and moisture in duct-mounted positions. Extended stud mounting and all-angle orientation let the motor sit in horizontal, vertical or angled housings without extra brackets. Auto thermal protection and Class B insulation handle continuous duty up to 40 °C ambient.

Single-speed 115 V operation at 0.90 A full load

The motor runs at one fixed speed drawing 0.90 amps at 60 Hz, with a 1.0 service factor and clockwise shaft rotation viewed from the shaft end. It is not usable at 200 V or 208 V, so installers must verify the supply voltage matches the 115 V nameplate before wiring.

Questions about this item

What does the 115 V 60 Hz single-phase supply limit the motor to in practice?

It runs at a fixed 1500 rpm with one speed, drawing 0.90 full-load amps, and cannot operate on 200 V or 208 V lines.

What clearance does the 3.3 in frame and extended-stud mounting need?

The totally enclosed air-over body fits a 3.3 inch frame diameter; extended studs allow all-angle mounting but require access to the stud pattern on the equipment bulkhead.

How do you wire the 12 in leads for CWSE rotation, and what mistake trips the auto thermal protector?

Connect the two 12 inch leads to 115 V AC for clockwise shaft-end rotation; running the motor without airflow over the enclosure causes overheating and protector trips.
