Lightweight Stratocaster for new players

The Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster is a full-size electric guitar built with a thin poplar body that weighs 10 lb. A slim C-shaped maple neck and a 25-inch scale length keep the fretboard comfortable for beginners and returning players. Three single-coil pickups and a 2-point tremolo bridge deliver the classic Stratocaster voice and vibrato action. Sealed die-cast tuning machines with split shafts make string changes quick and tuning stable.

Suits beginners and casual players.

This model fits students, hobbyists and anyone wanting an affordable entry to the Stratocaster platform. The lightweight body reduces fatigue during long practice sessions. Builders who need premium tonewoods, noiseless pickups or a locking tremolo system should look at higher-tier instruments. The right-hand orientation and fixed 6-string layout also mean left-handed players or extended-range users will need a different guitar.

Six-string versatility with vintage-style headroom

The S-S-S pickup configuration covers clean chime, mid-range quack and bridge bite for blues, rock, pop and country styles. The 2-point tremolo handles gentle vibrato and subtle pitch dips without major tuning drift. Aggressive whammy-bar dives or heavy palm-muted rhythm work may exceed the bridge's stability and the single-coils' noise floor. For those demands, a guitar with humbuckers or a locking tremolo would be more appropriate.

Questions about this item

Will my existing guitar amplifier and instrument cable work with this Stratocaster?

Yes, the three single-coil pickups produce a standard signal that any guitar amplifier and instrument cable will accept.

Does the 25-inch scale length change how the strings feel compared to longer-scale guitars I already own?

The 25-inch scale reduces string tension slightly, making bends easier while keeping familiar fret spacing for chord shapes.

How can I confirm the 2-point tremolo bridge is set up correctly after unboxing?

Tune to pitch, then check that the bridge plate sits parallel to the body and returns to pitch smoothly after using the tremolo arm.
