Fernco 1056-215 Flexible Coupling
This new elastomeric PVC coupling connects 2-inch and 1-1/2-inch pipes in sewer, drain, water and vent systems. It meets ASTM D5926 requirements and resists chemicals, ultraviolet rays, fungus growth and normal sewer gases. Stainless steel clamps provide corrosion-resistant, rust-proof sealing for clay to cast iron or plastic transitions.
Suitable Applications and Limits
The coupling suits installers joining dissimilar pipe materials in low-pressure gravity-flow systems. It is not for buyers who need a rigid joint, a high-pressure seal beyond 4.3 PSI or a fitting rated for continuous temperatures above 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Critical Specification
The maximum working pressure is 4.3 PSI (29.6 kPa) and the maximum operating temperature is 140 degrees Fahrenheit non-consistent, which determines whether the part matches the system design.

Questions about this item
What are the inside diameters I need on each pipe for the 2.45" and 1.95" ends of this 1056-215 coupling?
Side A fits a 2.45" inside diameter and side B fits a 1.95" inside diameter, matching a 2" x 1-1/2" nominal pipe transition.
Which way do the stainless steel clamps go on, and what torque stops them from leaking at 4.3 PSI?
Slide the coupling over both pipes, centre the clamps over each end, then tighten the band screws evenly until the gasket seats firmly.
How often should I check the elastomeric PVC body and clamps for cracks or corrosion in a 140 °F vent line?
Inspect once a year; the PVC resists chemicals, UV and fungus, and the stainless clamps are rust-proof, but thermal cycling can loosen bands over time.
