  • Plays USB media through the factory AMI port
  • Works with 2014 Audi models featuring AMI
  • Compatible with Volkswagen MDI-BOX equipped vehicles
  • Requires 3G MMI system for correct operation
  • Connects flash drives and card readers to car audio

Product Purpose

The Fervit AMI MDI USB AUX adapter cable lets owners of compatible Volkswagen and Audi vehicles connect a USB flash drive or card reader to the factory auxiliary system. It is built for cars equipped with the original AMI or MDI-BOX interface and the 3G MMI infotainment generation.

Vehicle Compatibility

This cable fits Audi models including A3, A4L, A5, A6L, A8, Q5, Q7 and S5 that came with the AMI port, plus Volkswagen models such as Tiguan, Tiguan GTI, CC and Magotan with the MDI-BOX interface. It will not work on vehicles using the 2G, 3G+ or 4G MMI systems, so owners of those platforms should look for a different solution.

Capacity and Limits

The adapter supports standard USB flash drives and card readers for audio playback through the car's head unit. It draws power from the vehicle's AMI or MDI port and does not require an external supply. Functionality is limited to the 3G MMI system; newer or older infotainment generations are not supported.
