USB 3.0 WWAN Adapter for Key-B Modules
This Fervit adapter converts a Key-B M.2 NGFF WWAN module to a USB 3.0 interface. It is built for engineers and technicians who need to test or deploy LTE modules such as the MU736, ME906 series or Sierra Wireless EM7305, EM7345, EM7355 and EM7430 outside a laptop chassis.
Integrated SIM Slot and Module Connector
The board includes a SIM card slot and a Key-B WWAN slot so the module and SIM sit on the same PCB. No LTE module, antenna or SIM card is supplied; the adapter only translates signals. You must install the module driver on the host system for the radio to function.
Single PCB Design for Bench Testing
A single printed circuit board carries both connectors, keeping the assembly compact for lab use. The USB 3.0 plug provides host power and data, while the M.2 Key-B slot accepts compatible WWAN cards. The adapter does not support WLAN cards, SSDs or modules lacking LTE capability.

Questions about this item
What components will need replacing if the SIM card slot wears out?
The SIM slot is built into the single PCBA, so the whole adapter board would need replacement if the slot fails.
What limits continuous data throughput on this adapter?
The USB 3.0 interface and the installed LTE module together set the maximum sustained throughput.
How much heat does the adapter produce during all-day use?
The board itself draws minimal power, but the LTE module and its antenna generate the bulk of the heat.
