Adapter Purpose and Target User
This Fervit adapter converts an M.2 Key A+E slot into an M-Key NVMe socket for SSD installation. It suits laptop owners who want to repurpose a wireless module slot for solid-state storage expansion. The bracket secures the extended drive inside the chassis. No SSD is included with the adapter.
Compatibility Guidance
Builders needing to connect SATA B+M-key drives, PCIe AHCI SSDs, Wi-Fi cards, capture cards, mSATA modules or non-M.2 form-factor drives should look elsewhere. The board only passes PCIe NVMe signals from a Key M device through a Key A+E connector. Systems without a spare Key A+E slot cannot use this adapter.
Deciding Specification
The adapter supports PCIe 4.0 and NVMe data transfer up to 64Gbps. It accepts Key M SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. Windows 8, 10 and 11 are supported. Any drive or host outside these key types, lengths or protocol limits will not function with this product.

Questions about this item
Does my laptop need an M.2 Key A+E 2230 slot for this adapter to work?
Yes, the adapter plugs into an M.2 Key A+E 2230 socket normally used for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth cards and extends it to accept M-key NVME drives.
Can I keep my existing M.2 SATA SSD installed while using this adapter?
No, the adapter only supports PCI-E NVME M-key SSDs and cannot work with B+M-key SATA SSDs or PCIe AHCI drives.
How do I verify the adapter is running at PCI-E 4.0 speeds after installation?
Check the drive properties in Windows 10 or 11 to confirm a PCIe 4.0 x4 link and NVME transfer rates up to 64Gbps.
