NGFF A+E Key to NVMe M-Key Adapter
This Fervit extension cable connects an NVMe M-key SSD to a laptop mainboard A+E key slot. It supports M.2 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors. The kit includes two PCBA boards and a flexible cable for internal routing. It is designed for users adding PCIe storage to a wireless module socket.
Passive PCIe signal extension
The adapter carries PCIe lanes without active components, adding no measurable power draw or heat. No fan or external supply is required. Signal integrity depends on cable length and motherboard trace quality. Installation is silent and does not affect system thermals.
M-key NVMe SSD only — no SATA support
This cable works exclusively with PCIe NVMe M-key drives in 2230, 2240, 2260 or 2280 sizes. It cannot operate with B-key or B+M-key SATA SSDs. Buyers needing SATA protocol support or a second M-key slot must choose a different adapter.

Questions about this item
How do I install the Fervit NGFF A+E Key to NVMe M-Key Extension Cable, and what is the common mistake to avoid?
Connect the male Key A+E end into the laptop's 2230 Wi-Fi slot and the female Key M end to the NVMe SSD, then secure both PCBA boards with screws; the common mistake is attempting to use a B/M-key SATA SSD, which this cable does not support.
What maintenance or replacement will this extension cable need over time?
The cable and two PCBA boards are passive components with no moving parts or firmware, so no scheduled maintenance is required; replace the assembly only if physical damage occurs or if the laptop's Key A+E slot becomes loose after repeated insertions.
What limit appears first when the NVMe SSD runs sustained workloads through this adapter?
The PCIe lane bandwidth and thermal budget of the laptop's Key A+E 2230 slot become the bottleneck before the cable itself, capping sustained throughput and potentially throttling the NVMe drive during heavy I/O.
