USB 3.0 to HDMI and VGA adapter
This Fervit adapter cable connects a USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port on a Windows laptop to external displays that have HDMI or VGA inputs. It functions as an external graphics solution for adding a monitor, projector or HDTV. Driver installation is required and begins automatically when the device is plugged in. The adapter is supplied new.
Check USB version and operating system
Verify that your laptop has a USB 3.0 port to reach the full 1920x1080 resolution; a USB 2.0 connection limits output to 800x600. On macOS the adapter only supports versions 10.11, 10.12, 10.13.1-3, 10.13.2 and 10.13.4-10.13.6, so confirm compatibility before ordering. You will also need a separate HDMI or VGA cable to link the adapter to your display.
Upgrade from single-screen or USB 2.0 video
This adapter replaces a single built-in display or a USB 2.0 video dongle by adding a second screen at full HD resolution over USB 3.0. The jump is worth it when you need an extra monitor for productivity or presentations and your laptop lacks a native video output. It is not for users who require multiple additional displays or who cannot install drivers on their system.
