- Connects to motherboard via 20-pin internal header
Fervit USB 3.0 Front Panel Hub
This hub adds four SuperSpeed ports to a 3.5 inch drive bay using a single 20-pin motherboard header. The built-in GL3520 chipset handles USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 signalling automatically. Each port delivers up to 900mA for connected devices.
Suits PCs with a free 3.5 inch bay and 20-pin header
Builders without an available front-panel header or spare bay cannot install this unit. Systems limited to USB 2.0 headers will not gain SuperSpeed performance. Laptops and small-form-factor cases lacking 3.5 inch bays are incompatible.
Single 20-pin header drives four ports
The GL3520 chipset splits one internal USB 3.0 connection into four external Type-A sockets. SuperSpeed runs at 5Gbps while legacy devices fall back to 480Mbps or 1.5Mbps. No additional headers or power cables are required.

Questions about this item
What comes in the box and does the 20-pin motherboard cable need to be bought separately?
The hub installs in a 3.5-inch front bay and connects to the motherboard with a 20-pin header cable; the cable is part of the unit so nothing extra is required for the internal link.
There is only one version listed; how do I decide if the 4-port layout with 900mA per port fits my needs?
The panel provides four USB 3.0 ports sharing a GL3520 chipset, each delivering up to 900mA, so choose it when you need four front-access Super-Speed ports without adding a separate power adapter.
The headline says 5Gbps Super-Speed; what does that mean once the hub is connected to a real PC?
The 5Gbps rate is the USB 3.0 Super-Speed ceiling; actual throughput will also depend on the motherboard header, cable quality and the devices attached, while the hub still supports USB 2.0 at 480Mbps and USB 1.1 at 1.5Mbps for older peripherals.
