Questions about this item
Will my M.2 2280 NVME drive work inside this Fervit enclosure alongside my older USB 3.0 laptop port?
Yes, the RTL9210B chipset supports M.2 2242, 2260 and 2280 NVME drives and is backward compatible with USB 3.1 Gen1 and USB 3.0 up to 5Gbps.
How can I confirm the RTL9210B controller is running with UASP and Trim active after I plug it in?
On Windows check Device Manager for a UASP-enabled storage controller; on Linux run lsusb -t and verify the UAS driver is bound; macOS System Report shows TRIM support when the SSD reports it.
Does the box include an NVME SSD or do I need to buy the 2280 drive separately?
The enclosure ships with an attached Type-C and Type-A cable but NVME and SATA SSDs are not included, so you must purchase the M.2 2280 drive separately.
