- Fits PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slots for broad desktop compatibility
Expansion card for USB 3.1 ports
This PCIe add-in card adds three Type-A and two Type-C ports to a desktop system. It suits builders who need more high-speed USB connections for external drives, docks or peripherals. The board draws power from the slot and requires no external cable. Windows 10, macOS and Linux work without extra drivers.
10 Gbps data rate with dual controller
The ASM3142 and VL822 chipsets combine to deliver the full 10 Gbps bandwidth defined by USB 3.1 Gen 2. The ASM3142 uses Multiple INs to keep the bus saturated, while the VL822 manages the hub function across all five ports. Backward compatibility covers USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 speeds automatically.
Fits PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slots
Installation uses any standard PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot and needs no supplementary power connector. The card provides data and 5 V power only, so it cannot drive USB-C video, audio or thunderbolt devices. Builders who require display output or thunderbolt connectivity must use a different solution.

Questions about this item
How fast will the 10 Gbps rating actually move data once the card is installed?
The card delivers up to 10 Gbps over USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, with real-world throughput limited by the connected device and the PCIe x4 slot bandwidth.
What does the USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface cap in everyday use?
It caps at 10 Gbps for data and 5 V/3 A for charging, but cannot carry video, audio or Thunderbolt signals.
What slot and clearance does the card need to fit?
It fits any PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot and uses a standard rear bracket with three Type-A and two Type-C ports.
