Power delivery for barrel laptops
This Fervit adapter lets you charge a laptop that uses a 5.5 x 2.5 mm DC jack from a USB-C power delivery charger rated at 65 W or 87 W. The built-in trigger negotiates an 18 V or 20 V output and blocks 5 V so the laptop receives the voltage it expects. A 90° angled plug reduces strain on the port.
Replacing a proprietary brick
Swap a dedicated barrel charger for a compact USB-C GaN charger when you travel or want a single power source for multiple devices. The upgrade makes sense if your existing USB-C charger can supply at least the wattage the laptop draws; the adapter itself does not boost power beyond what the charger provides.
Build integration notes
Connect the USB-C female end to the charger cable and the 5.5 x 2.5 mm or 2.1 mm male tip to the laptop. No driver or software setup is required. The adapter does not support 5 V devices and cannot be used with chargers below 65 W, so it is not for phones, tablets or low-power USB-C hubs.

Questions about this item
Will the 5.5 x 2.5 mm DC plug fit my laptop's charging port?
The adapter terminates in a 5.5 mm outer and 2.5 mm inner diameter male barrel connector; match those dimensions to your laptop's DC input before use.
What is the correct way to connect the 90° angled adapter so the PD trigger negotiates 20 V?
Plug a 65 W or 87 W USB-C charger into the female Type-C end first, then insert the DC barrel into the laptop; the charger must exceed the laptop's power draw for the trigger to request 18–20 V.
When should I replace the cable if the DC connector becomes loose?
Replace the unit if the 5.5 x 2.5 mm barrel no longer seats firmly or if charging drops out when the cable moves, as the fixed connector cannot be serviced separately.
