USB-C to Surface DC charging cable
This Fervit cable connects a USB 3.1 Type-C charger to Microsoft Surface Pro 3 through Pro 6 and Surface Book models. It accepts 65 W input at 12 V or 15 V and delivers the same voltage range through the proprietary Surface connector. The cable length is 1.8 m and it is sold new.
Built-in PD trigger enables voltage negotiation
A PD emulator trigger inside the Type-C male end negotiates 12 V or 15 V output from the charger. Without this trigger a standard charger will not supply the required voltage and the cable will not charge the laptop. The accessory therefore replaces the original power brick when paired with a compatible 65 W USB-C source.
Suits owners of older Surface devices wanting
Travellers and desk users who already carry a 65 W USB-C power supply can leave the bulky Surface brick behind. Buyers whose charger lacks 12 V or 15 V PDO support, or who need to charge newer Surface models that use USB-C natively, should look at other solutions.

Questions about this item
Will the PD trigger chip inside the USB-C plug need replacing after heavy use?
The built-in PD emulator trigger is a fixed component and is not designed to be serviced or swapped out.
What limits continuous charging at the full 65 W rate?
The source charger must explicitly support 12 V or 15 V output profiles; without those voltages the cable cannot deliver 65 W.
Does the cable get hot or draw extra power when running all day?
It carries only the negotiated 12 V to 15 V from the charger to the Surface port, so heat and power draw match the laptop's own charging demand.
