Purpose-built 10G SR transceiver

This module delivers 10 Gbps over multi-mode fibre for enterprise and data-centre links up to 300 metres on OM3 cabling. It targets network engineers who need a standards-compliant SFP+ optic for 10GBASE-SR/SW Ethernet, Fibre Channel or CPRI interconnects.

Hot-pluggable LC design

The duplex LC connector and 850 nm VCSEL transmitter plug directly into SFP+ cages without powering down the switch. SFF-8431 MSA compliance and a 3.3 V single supply ensure mechanical and electrical fit across Cisco, Juniper and other open platforms, while the SFF-8472 diagnostic interface provides real-time monitoring.

Replaces single-rate SR optics

Multi-rate support from 8.5 Gbps to 11.32 Gbps consolidates separate 8GFC, 10GFC, OC-192, OTU2 and CPRI Option 7/8 modules into one spare part. The upgrade is worthwhile when inventory simplification or mixed-protocol back-haul is required, but not for links exceeding 300 metres or single-mode infrastructure.
