Dual USB and XLR connectivity

The FIFINE AmpliGame AM8W is a unidirectional tabletop microphone built for streamers, podcasters and content creators who need a single mic that works with both PC and mixer setups. It weighs .8 and draws power through a corded electric supply. The cardioid polar pattern captures voice at a sensitivity of -50 decibels while rejecting off-axis noise.

Upgrade from USB-only or headset mics

Moving to this model adds a balanced XLR output so the microphone can grow with an audio interface or sound card without replacement. The jump is worth it when you want real-time monitoring through the built-in headphones jack and physical gain control that USB-only mics often lack. RGB lighting and tap-to-mute are active only over USB.

Limits of the USB and XLR interfaces

Over USB the mic is plug-and-play on a PC but the RGB, headphone monitoring, gain knob and mute button all depend on that connection. Over XLR those controls are inactive and the microphone requires an external preamp or mixer with phantom power to operate. Cable length and preamp quality will determine the practical recording distance.

Questions about this item

Does the AM8W need a boom arm or can it sit on the desk?

The microphone weighs .8 and has a tabletop design, so it stands on its own base without a boom arm.

How do I plug it into my PC for the first time?

Connect the USB cable directly to the computer for plug-and-play operation; the XLR port is for mixers or audio interfaces only.

Will I need to replace the capsule or any internal parts later?

The AM8W is a dynamic capsule microphone with no user-serviceable parts, so no capsule swaps or internal maintenance are required.
