10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver for Enterprise Networks

The Finisar FTLX8574D3BCL is a hot-pluggable SFP+ transceiver built for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel links over multimode fibre. It targets network engineers and data-centre operators who need reliable short-range connectivity inside racks or between adjacent cabinets.

850 nm VCSEL Operating -5 to 70 °C

The module uses an 850 nm VCSEL laser rated for up to 400 metres on OM3 multimode fibre across a -5 to 70 °C temperature range. Hot-pluggable SFP+ form factor allows insertion or removal without powering down the switch, keeping service interruptions to a minimum during maintenance.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Finisar FTLX8574D3BCL transceiver and what step is often missed?

Insert the hot-pluggable SFP+ module into a compatible port while the system is powered on, then lock the bail latch until it clicks; the step often missed is fully engaging the latch so the 850 nm VCSEL aligns with the LC duplex connector.

What maintenance or replacement will the Finisar FTLX8574D3BCL need over time?

Clean the LC duplex ferrule ends with a lint-free wipe and isopropyl alcohol whenever link errors appear; replace the module if optical output drops below the 400 m multimode reach or if operating temperature exceeds the -5 to 70 °C range.
