Motorised Thomas engine with 18 ft track

The set includes a motorised Classic Thomas engine and cargo car that travel along 18 feet of connectable track pieces. Children press a button to start the engine, sending it through a tunnel and over a bridge to a delivery warehouse where barrels can be loaded. The barrel then launches automatically onto the depot roof, ringing a bell, while a turntable resets the engine for another run. This 80th anniversary-inspired layout encourages imaginative storytelling based on Thomas & Friends adventures.

Preschool conductors aged three and up

The large-scale track and simple push-button controls suit young children who are developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Interactive loading and launching actions keep play engaging without requiring reading or complex assembly. Buyers who want a compact tabletop set or a non-motorised wooden railway should look at something else, as this configuration needs floor space for the full 18-foot layout and relies on battery-powered motion.

Four barrels and repeating launch cycle

Four barrels are supplied, giving several consecutive delivery cycles before reloading is needed. The turntable automatically reorients the engine so the sequence can repeat continuously during a play session. Once the barrels are all on the depot roof the cycle pauses until a child returns them to the warehouse, limiting uninterrupted run time to the number of barrels included.

Questions about this item

What type of batteries does the motorized Classic Thomas engine require to operate?

The motorized Classic Thomas engine runs on batteries that are not included with the set; check the battery compartment on the engine for the specific type and quantity needed.

Can additional Thomas & Friends track pieces be connected to the 18 feet of track included in this set?

Yes, the easy-to-connect track pieces are designed to work with other Thomas & Friends track systems so you can expand the layout using pieces you already own.

How do I know the motorized engine and automatic barrel launch are working correctly after assembly?

Flip the switch on top of the engine; Thomas should travel the full circuit, stop at the warehouse for loading, launch a barrel at the depot to ring the bell, and return via the turntable.
