Product identity

The Flint & Walling 023817 is a 120V AC utility pump built for light-duty water transfer. It suits homeowners, maintenance crews and small-scale irrigation tasks where a compact, self-priming unit is preferred.

Cord and connections

A six-foot power cord lets the pump reach standard outlets without an extension lead. The 3/4-inch FNPT intake and MNPT discharge accept common garden-hose fittings, so setup uses parts already on hand.

Pre-installation checks

Verify that the suction lift does not exceed three feet and that total head stays within forty-eight feet. The fluid viscosity must remain at or below thirty-one SUS, and the circuit must supply 120V AC at the nameplate rating.

Questions about this item

Does the Buna-N impeller need periodic replacement?

The Buna-N impeller is the only moving part in contact with fluid and should be inspected if flow drops below the rated 2.8 gpm at 10 ft head.

What limits continuous running time on this pump?

The 1/12 hp motor and 20.7 psi maximum pressure are the first constraints; sustained operation near 48 ft head will hit that pressure ceiling.

How hot or noisy does the 120V AC motor get during all-day use?

The aluminum housing dissipates heat from the 1/12 hp motor, and the 6 ft cord keeps the unit away from living spaces for quieter operation.
