Ultrasonic Transmitter 18.0 Ft Range

The Flowline LU23-01 is an ultrasonic level transmitter designed for general-purpose liquid measurement up to 18.0 feet. It provides a 4-20 mA output over a two-wire loop powered by 24 VDC. The unit suits operators needing reliable, non-contact level monitoring in tanks or vessels.

Sustained Measurement Performance

Accuracy holds at ±0.2 percent of range across the operating span with a resolution of 0.039 inches. An 8-inch dead band defines the minimum measurable distance from the sensor face. The 3-inch beam width and WebCal configuration support stable readings during continuous operation.

Environmental Durability

The polycarbonate and PVDF enclosure carries a Type 6P rating with Viton gaskets for ingress protection. Operating temperature spans -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and maximum pressure is 30 psi. The compact 4.1 by 4.0 inch housing mounts via a 2-inch NPT thread.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 4-20 mA loop draw when the transmitter runs continuously?

The unit operates on a 24 VDC loop supply and regulates its own current between 4 and 20 mA, so power consumption stays within the loop budget all day.

What mounting hardware must I already have to install the 2 in. NPT process connection?

You need a matching 2 in. NPT fitting or flange on the vessel; the transmitter threads directly into that opening with its Viton gasket.

Will the 3 in. beam width give reliable readings inside a narrow standpipe used with older level gear?

The 3 in. beam requires a clear path at least that wide; a narrower standpipe can cause false echoes and should be avoided.
