Compatible turntables

This 12 inch acrylic platter is built for the Fluance Reference RT82, RT83, RT84 and RT85 turntables. It replaces the standard platter on those models to raise mass and damping without changing any other part of the deck. Owners of other turntables cannot use this platter because the spindle and mounting pattern are specific to the Reference series.

Practical limits of the upgrade

The platter adds mass and damping but does not alter the turntable’s motor, speed control or tonearm. It cannot fix wow and flutter that originate in the drive system or bearing, nor can it compensate for a worn belt or misaligned cartridge. The improvement is limited to the mechanical stability and vibration rejection that the extra inertia provides.

Deciding specification

The 12 inch diameter and recessed centre are the critical fit dimensions; the platter must match the spindle height and record seating depth of the Reference series exactly. If your turntable is not an RT82, RT83, RT84 or RT85 the platter will not seat correctly and cannot deliver the claimed speed consistency.
