High-density acrylic platter and 760 g steel weight reduce vibration and stabilise speed for Fluance RT82, RT83, RT84 and RT85 turntables
The high density frosted acrylic platter replaces the standard platter on Fluance Reference RT82 RT83 RT84 RT85 turntables. Its greater mass increases rotational inertia for more consistent speed. The acrylic material damps micro vibrations that can colour the sound. A 760 gram steel record weight is included to couple the vinyl firmly to the platter surface.
The heavier acrylic platter and steel stabilizer work together to suppress unwanted resonance during playback. Improved contact between record and platter helps keep warped discs flatter. Stable rotation reduces speed fluctuations that cause pitch wobble. No power draw or active cooling is involved as the parts are purely mechanical.
The platter and weight are finished in black and weigh 4.75 lbs combined. The acrylic platter sits directly on the turntable spindle without adapters. The steel weight rests on the record label area and lifts off by hand. Both pieces are solid metal and acrylic with no moving parts to wear out. They suit owners of the listed Reference models who want a simple mechanical upgrade.

Lift off the existing platter, place the acrylic platter on the spindle, then add the 760 gram steel weight on top of the record; the weight is the step many forget.
The acrylic platter and steel weight are solid pieces with no moving parts; occasional dusting and checking that the spindle sits cleanly is all that is required.
The motor must handle the extra inertia of the acrylic platter plus the 760 gram weight; if the motor cannot maintain consistent speed, that is the first limitation.
