Dual-Plinth Turntable System

The Fluance RT87 turntable uses a dual-plinth design that separates the motor on the lower plinth from the tonearm on the upper plinth. Isolators between the layers minimise structural vibrations for precise stylus tracking. This reference system includes the PA10 phono preamp and Ai61 powered speakers for a complete analog playback chain.

PA10 Preamp and Ai61 Speakers

The PA10 phono preamp provides sonic clarity for the turntable signal. The Ai61 active speakers integrate a 120W amplifier and premium neodymium tweeters to deliver refined detail and powerful room-filling stereo sound. Together they eliminate the need for separate amplification components in the signal path.

Setup Requirements

Verify you have adequate space for a 48.17 lbs turntable plus the paired speakers on a stable, level surface. Ensure your listening room can accommodate the physical footprint of the dual-plinth deck and the active speaker pair. Confirm you have accessible power outlets for both the turntable motor and the powered speakers.

Questions about this item

How often does the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge stylus on the RT87 need replacement?

The Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge fitted to the RT87 uses a replaceable stylus; under normal home use it typically lasts several years before tracking performance declines and a new stylus is required.

What limits continuous playback time on the RT87 system?

The Ai61 speakers integrate a 120W amplifier, so extended high-volume sessions are limited by thermal protection in the built-in amp rather than by the turntable mechanism.

How much heat and noise do the Ai61 speakers produce during all-day use?

The Ai61 active speakers contain a 120W amplifier that warms up during long sessions; the cabinet stays warm to the touch and the internal fan remains audible at low level in a quiet room.
