It supplies selectable 500 V or 1000 V DC test voltages and measures insulation from .1 to 2000 megohm. A remote probe, test leads, probes, alligator clips and a protective boot are included.

Limits of the CAT IV 600 V safety rating

The tester is rated CAT IV 600 V, so it is approved for measurements at the service entrance and on outdoor conductors. It must not be used on circuits whose voltage to earth exceeds 600 V. Live-circuit detection warns when more than 30 V is present, but the instrument itself is not rated for higher-category environments.
