Antibacterial Kitchen Island

The FM Furniture Brooklyn kitchen island measures 80 inches wide and features a tabletop coated with a silver nanoparticle film that kills 99.8 percent of MRSA and E. coli bacteria. Three concealed shelves provide hidden storage for utensils and accessories. The modern multi-colour design suits medium and large kitchens. Hardware is included for assembly.

Upgrade from open shelving

This island replaces basic counters or open shelves that lack antimicrobial protection and enclosed storage. The jump is worth it when food-preparation hygiene is a priority and clutter needs to stay out of sight. The integrated nanoparticle surface works continuously without sprays or wipes. Buyers who need a second prep station or outdoor-rated unit should look elsewhere.

Limits of the nanoparticle surface

The antibacterial film covers the tabletop only; shelves and frame are not treated. Heavy impact or abrasive cleaners can degrade the coating over time. The island is designed for indoor kitchen use and is not rated for commercial food-service volumes. No plumbing, power or ventilation connections are provided.
