Blue-Footed Booby Hand Puppet

This Folkmanis hand puppet represents the distinctive seabird known for its bright blue feet and comical mating dance. Soft velour construction makes it suitable for children and educators who want a tactile way to explore coastal wildlife. The movable beak and foot pockets allow animated storytelling or classroom demonstration. It arrives new and ready for imaginative play.

19-inch length with movable features

At 19 inches long, 9 inches wide and 13 inches tall, the puppet fits an adult hand comfortably while remaining light enough for extended use. The articulated beak opens and closes for vocal effects, and the foot pockets let a wearer wiggle the iconic blue feet during a performance. Because the toy does not stand on its own, it requires a puppeteer or a supported perch for display.

Hand-operated animation only

Operation depends entirely on direct hand manipulation; there are no internal mechanisms, batteries or electronic sensors to automate movement. Buyers who want a self-standing figure or motorised motion will need a different type of toy. The design focuses on tactile puppetry rather than automated display.

Questions about this item

Will the 19-inch puppet fit on a child's hand alongside smaller finger puppets?

The puppet measures 19 inches long and 9 inches wide, so it covers most of an adult forearm; smaller finger puppets would sit underneath but the beak and foot pockets need room to move freely.

How can I check the movable beak and foot pockets are working smoothly after opening?

Open and close the beak several times — it should hinge without sticking — then slide your fingers into each foot pocket and flex; both pockets should move independently and return to a neutral position.

What comes in the box and is anything else needed to start playing?

The box contains only the Blue-Footed Booby hand puppet itself; no accessories, batteries or stands are included and the puppet does not stand on its own.
