Blue Tarantula Hand Puppet

The Folkmanis Blue Tarantula is a large glove puppet designed for imaginative play and storytelling. Its striking indigo velboa plush and hairy pine needle fringe create a realistic yet friendly appearance. The puppet measures 16 inches long and 14 inches wide, making it a substantial presence for performances or display.

Size and Handling

The generous dimensions provide ample coverage for an adult hand while the six-finger glove design allows independent movement of the spider legs. This construction supports expressive gestures such as crawling and waving during play. The three-inch height keeps the profile low enough for tabletop puppet theatre without obscuring the puppeteer.

Upgrade From Smaller Finger Puppets

This hand puppet replaces basic finger puppets when a performer needs greater visibility and more articulated limb movement. The jump is worthwhile for teachers, librarians, or home storytellers who want a single character that commands attention across a room. It is not suited for buyers seeking a compact travel toy or a multi-character set.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 inch long tarantula puppet fit comfortably over an adult hand?

The puppet works with a six finger glove design that covers the hand and extends along the arm, so most adults can operate the legs and body without strain.

How can I check that all eight legs move correctly after I put the puppet on?

Insert your hand into the glove, spread your fingers to control each leg pair, and verify that the indigo velboa plush and pine needle fringe move smoothly with every gesture.

Does the package include anything besides the 14 inch wide spider puppet itself?

The box contains only the Blue Tarantula hand puppet; no extra accessories, batteries or display stands are supplied.
