Folkmanis Bookworm Hand Puppet

The Folkmanis Bookworm Hand Puppet is a plush character designed for interactive storytelling and performance. It suits educators, puppeteers, parents and collectors who want a realistic worm figure for stage, classroom or home play. The puppet slips over the hand to animate the mouth and facial expressions directly.

Sustained play durability

High-quality materials and construction allow the puppet to withstand regular handling during extended storytelling sessions or daily classroom use. The plush fabric and detailed stitching maintain their shape and appearance over years of repeated animation. Easy care requirements support long-term hygiene and presentation.

50-inch length scale

At 50 inches long, this puppet creates a dramatic visual presence suitable for audience visibility in theater or group settings. The size determines staging distance and the performer reach required for comfortable manipulation. Buyers needing a more compact figure for small hands or tight spaces should consider a smaller puppet.

Questions about this item

How warm does the 50 inch puppet get after hours of active play?

The plush fabric stays at room temperature because there are no electronic parts or motors that generate heat during use.

Does the Bookworm puppet need batteries or a separate controller to operate?

No power source or external device is required; your hand fits inside and directly moves the mouth and expressions.

Will the 50 inch size work on a standard classroom puppet stage built for smaller hand puppets?

The larger dimensions mean it needs a wider stage opening and more performer space than typical smaller puppets.
