Reusable Silicone Food Saver

The Food Huggers COMIN18JU037878 is a single 4.4 in round silicone sleeve designed to stretch over cut produce halves and open cans. It suits home cooks who want a plastic-free way to keep onions, tomatoes, lemons and similar items fresh in the fridge.

Stretch-Fit Seal Limits

The patented hug design relies on elastic tension rather than threads or clips, so it seals best on roughly round, smooth surfaces. Irregular shapes, very soft flesh or oversized diameters may not hold an airtight line, and the sleeve cannot be used on square containers or bowls.

Capacity and Headroom

One sleeve covers a single cut face at a time, handling common medium and small fruit or vegetable halves and standard can tops. It does not replace full containers for bulk storage, meal prep portions or stacking multiple items together.

Questions about this item

Which size should I choose for different fruits and vegetables?

The 4.4 in round sleeve stretches to fit large, medium and small halves of onion, tomato, lemon, banana, cucumber, apple, cheese and zucchini with one air-tight seal.

What does the 4.4 in dimension mean once the hugger is on the produce?

It is the flat diameter; the patented silicone ring expands around cut faces to create a tight seal that slows browning and keeps items fresher longer in the fridge.

Is the silicone safe for dishwasher, microwave and freezer use?

Yes — the 100% food-grade, BPA-free and phthalate-free silicone is dishwasher safe, microwave safe and rated freezer safe for food-grade storage.
