Replacement Lid for Round Containers

The Food Huggers Parent-01 is a medium terracotta lid designed to replace broken or missing covers on round glass storage containers and bowls. Its patented silicone and tempered glass construction creates an airtight seal without plastic snap locks or cling wrap. The lid fits most major brands of round containers measuring between 5.5 and 6.7 inches across.

Thermal Safety and Cleaning

The tempered glass centre and food-grade silicone rim are microwave safe, freezer safe and dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Materials are BPA and phthalate free, so the lid does not leach chemicals during reheating or long-term cold storage. The one-piece design has no small parts to lose or degrade in high-temperature wash cycles.

Stackable Storage Under Load

The rigid glass centre allows filled bowls to be stacked securely in the fridge without the lid flexing or collapsing under weight. Silicone edges maintain the airtight seal even when containers are pressed together, keeping leftovers fresh for longer periods. The 100 per cent plastic-free build resists cracking or warping through repeated heating, freezing and stacking cycles.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 6.89 in glass lid on my bowl, and what step do people get wrong?

Press the lid centre-down so the silicone rim stretches evenly around the bowl edge; the common mistake is pushing only one side first, which breaks the airtight seal.

What maintenance or replacement will the silicone rim need later?

The rim is dishwasher-safe and BPA-free; inspect it periodically for tears or loss of elasticity and replace the lid if the seal no longer holds.

What limit shows up first under sustained stacking in the fridge?

The tempered glass centre supports stacking, but excessive weight on the 0.98 in high lid can eventually deform the silicone rim and compromise the airtight fit.
