Purpose & audience

The FoodSaver LST-011-2 is a cordless vacuum pump built for travellers and home organisers who want to compress clothing, bedding or other soft goods into storage bags without a mains-powered machine. Its 0.159 kg weight and 5.7 x 1.8 x 1.8 inch footprint let it slip into a suitcase or drawer for on-the-go space saving.

Deciding specification

The pump delivers 6.0 Kpa suction through a 1.5 inch (38 mm) nozzle that fits most standard vacuum storage bags, and the integrated 1500 mAh battery provides up to 80 compression cycles per full charge. If your bags use a different valve diameter or you need continuous mains operation, this model will not suit.

Thermals, noise & power

The unit is described as low noise during its 15 to 25 second compression cycle, with no audible fan or motor whine reported in normal use. Power comes solely from the USB-C rechargeable 1500 mAh cell; there is no external power draw while sealing, and the plastic housing remains cool to the touch throughout repeated operations.

Questions about this item

What does the 6.0Kpa suction actually achieve when the pump is running on a storage bag?

The 6.0Kpa rating compresses a typical travel bag in about 15 to 25 seconds, removing enough air to flatten bulky items such as winter coats or bedding.

How does the USB-C charging port limit or enable daily use?

USB-C charging lets you top up the 1500mAh battery from any standard USB power source, and a full charge supports up to 80 bag cycles.

Will the 38mm nozzle diameter fit the valve on my existing vacuum bags?

The 1.5in (38mm) nozzle is sized for most common vacuum storage bags, so it will connect securely to standard valves without an adapter.
