Compact Cordless Sealer

The FoodSaver RETRIN Sealer Pro is a handheld, battery-powered vacuum sealer designed for home cooks who want to extend food life without a bulky countertop machine. Its lightweight build at .43 lbs makes it practical for small kitchens, RV travel, or camping trips where space and power outlets are limited. The kit includes the sealer, a charging cable, and 30 reusable bags so you can start preserving immediately.

Replaces Bulky Countertop Units

This sealer replaces large, mains-powered vacuum machines that dominate work surfaces and require dedicated storage. The jump is worth it if you seal smaller portions several times a week rather than processing bulk harvests in one session. It is not for users who need continuous, high-volume sealing cycles or the stronger vacuum pressure that full-size chamber models deliver for commercial batches.

Simple One-Touch Operation

Installation is limited to charging the built-in battery via the supplied cable, then pressing the single button to start an automatic vacuum cycle that stops on its own. What usually goes wrong is attempting to seal liquids or overfilled bags, which can draw moisture into the pump and reduce suction over time. The reusable bags are dishwasher- and microwave-safe, but they must be completely dry and correctly aligned before each use to maintain a reliable seal.

Questions about this item

How much space does the 0.43 lb sealer need on a countertop or in a bag?

The unit weighs 0.43 pounds and is described as compact and lightweight, so it fits easily in a drawer, small cupboard, or travel bag without requiring a dedicated footprint.

What is the correct way to start a sealing cycle, and what common mistake should be avoided?

Press the single button once; the motor removes air and stops automatically. A frequent error is pressing the button again before the cycle finishes, which can interrupt the seal.

When will the 30 included bags need to be replaced, and what wears out on the sealer itself?

The bags are reusable, dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, and freezer-safe, so they last through many cycles. The sealer’s rechargeable battery will eventually hold less charge and require replacement.
