Portable 20 W heat sealer

The FoodSaver SB-20615003 Alitamei is a handheld heat sealer that plugs into AC power and uses a 3D PTC heat plate to reseal plastic and foil bags. It measures 7.5 by 0.83 by 0.83 inches and weighs 0.32 pounds, so it stores easily in a kitchen drawer or the included case. The 47 inch detachable cable removes the need for batteries and suits countertop use. A side lock switch prevents accidental activation during storage.

Upgrades from battery or impulse sealers

Replaces battery-powered bag sealers that lose charge and impulse models that require precise timing. The 30 second preheat and constant 20 watt output give repeatable seals on snack bags, pet food pouches and coated aluminium foil bags. The 3.15 by 0.8 inch sealing strip handles wider openings than most pen-style units. Not suited for cling film, paper bags or any bag contaminated with oil or liquid.

Fits a minimal prep station

Requires only a mains outlet and a flat surface; the separate power adapter keeps the handpiece light at 0.32 pounds. The storage case holds the sealer and cable together, freeing drawer space. No vacuum pump, rolls or proprietary bags are needed, so ongoing cost stays at zero. Builders who need vacuum evacuation or chamber sealing cannot use this device.

Questions about this item

How much counter space does the 7.5 by .83 by .83 inch sealer need?

The unit measures 7.5 inches long by .83 inches wide by .83 inches high, so it fits in a drawer or small shelf space.

What is the correct way to preheat the 20 watt sealer and avoid burning the bag?

Plug in the separate 47 inch power cable, wait 30 seconds for the 3D PTC heat plate to warm, then adjust sealing time to match bag thickness; thin cling film is not suitable.

When will the 3.15 by .8 inch sealing plate or the ABS housing need replacement?

The PTC heat plate and ABS body are built for long use; replace only if the plate no longer heats evenly or the side lock switch fails to engage.
