A 1/700 scale diecast model of the USS Missouri (BB-63) Iowa-class battleship in its 1945 Battle of Okinawa configuration, featuring rotatable turrets, movable gun barrels.
This is a 1/700 scale diecast model of the USS Missouri (BB-63) Iowa-class battleship in its 1945 Battle of Okinawa configuration. It is made for adult collectors and military-history enthusiasts who want a detailed, officially licensed display piece.
The model replaces basic plastic kits or smaller-scale replicas with a diecast-metal hull, individually movable main-gun barrels, rotatable primary and secondary turrets, and intricate observation floatplanes. The jump is worth it when you want a heavy, realistic feel and museum-grade exterior detail without any openings.
The waterline edition has no interior access or opening hatches, so it cannot be detailed internally or motorised beyond the two hull-mounted ball bearings that allow manual rolling on a flat surface. The fixed wooden-look display base and simulated wave blister mean the ship sits at a single attitude and cannot be posed in a diorama with variable sea states.

The model measures 15.25 inches long, 1.75 inches wide and 3 inches high, so allow at least that footprint plus a small margin for the display base.
The primary and secondary turrets are designed to rotate; gently turn each turret by hand — forcing them can damage the fine diecast gearing.
The two sets of ball bearings at the hull are sealed; they require no lubrication, just keep the rolling surface clean and dust-free.
