Leica R to Canon RF Adapter

This brass-and-metal mount adapter connects Leica R SLR lenses to Canon RF-mount mirrorless camera bodies such as the EOS R and RP. It is built for photographers who want to use their existing Leica R glass on a modern mirrorless system without changing lenses.

Verify Lens Mount and Camera Compatibility

Before ordering confirm that the lens you intend to use carries a Leica R bayonet mount and that the camera body uses the Canon RF mount. The adapter provides no electronic communication so aperture must be controlled manually on the lens and autofocus is not available.

Manual Focus Workflow for Mirrorless Builds

The adapter adds a solid mechanical link between lens and body with no play or wiggle, preserving infinity focus and precise alignment. It frees you from native RF lens requirements while demanding a manual focus and aperture workflow suited to deliberate shooting styles.

Questions about this item

What is included in the box with the Leica R to Canon RF adapter and do I need anything else?

The adapter itself is the only item supplied. It provides a direct mechanical mount between a Leica R lens and a Canon RF camera body. No extra shims, screws or electronic contacts are required for operation.

Which version of the Fotodiox Pro Leica R to RF adapter should I choose?

This is a single Pro-series model with an all-brass, all-metal construction. There are no alternate capacities, finishes or feature tiers to select from.

What does “infinity focus” mean when I attach my Leica R lens to my EOS R using this adapter?

It means the lens can focus all the way to the horizon without hitting a hard stop, so distant subjects render sharply — exactly as they would on a native Leica R body.
