Adult protective leg guard

The Franklin Sports PRT Series leg guard model 23568 is designed for adult baseball and softball batters. It provides a soft-shell shield that hardens on impact to absorb force from pitched balls. The adjustable construction allows use by both right-handed and left-handed hitters. A pre-curved interior shell molds to the leg over time for a personalized fit.

Small size coverage and limits

This Small-sized guard extends protection from the shin down through the ankle and toes with an integrated toe plate. The polyurethane material remains lightweight and flexible during normal swings. Coverage runs out above the knee and does not protect the thigh or hip area. The single-piece design cannot be separated for individual shin or ankle use.

Strap-on interface practical limits

The guard secures with adjustable straps that wrap around the leg for a snug fit. Straps must be tightened each time the guard is put on, which takes a few seconds between at-bats. The soft-shell hardening mechanism activates only on direct ball impact, not on incidental contact. No tool-based adjustment or quick-release buckle system is included.

Questions about this item

Will the PRT Series 23568 leg guard fit over my existing batting gloves and socks without slipping?

The adjustable straps and pre-curved flexible shell are designed to secure over socks and stay in place during your swing for both right and left-handed batters.

How can I confirm the impact-hardening shell is functioning correctly after I put it on?

The soft-shell material should feel pliable when handled but stiffen instantly when struck; a firm tap with your hand will demonstrate the hardening response.

Does the 23568C2 Small Gold package include straps for both legs or only the guard itself?

The guard arrives with all integrated adjustable straps attached; no separate hardware or accessories are required for immediate use.
