Product Purpose

The Freewell Diffusion Snow Mist 1/8 Filter is an optical accessory for the V2 Hybrid VND/CPL Filter System. It creates a soft, dreamy visual effect that adds an ethereal quality to photographs and video. This filter is intended for photographers and videographers who want to introduce a subtle, artistic glow to highlights and skin tones.

System Integration

The filter requires the Freewell V2 VND filter system to function and cannot be used independently. It mounts within that modular stack, allowing it to sit alongside the variable ND and circular polariser layers. This design frees the front of the lens from additional screw-on filters while keeping the overall stack manageable.

Creative Control

Stacking this 1/8 strength filter with the optional 1/4 variant lets you tune the intensity of the diffusion effect to match the scene. The combined layers increase highlight bloom and reduce contrast in a controlled way, giving you a broader range of in-camera looks without relying on post-production.
