Cooling Towels for Hot Activities

The Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad uses a hyper-evaporative material that retains water while staying dry to the touch. Wetting the towel activates the cooling effect for immediate relief. It suits sports, yard work, gym sessions and other strenuous tasks in high temperatures. The two-pack format ensures a spare is always ready.

Evaporation-Based Temperature Drop

When saturated, the towel cools up to 30 degrees through simple evaporation. It provides three to four hours of cooling relief depending on ambient conditions. The material absorbs up to eight times its weight in water to sustain the effect. No refrigeration or electricity is required at any stage.

Reusable Design With Simple Care

Cooling stops when the towel dries out; re-wetting in hot or cold water restores it within minutes. The fabric is machine or hand washable with standard detergent for hygiene. Since 1996 the brand has focused on reusable cooling accessories for repeated use. Buyers who need continuous cooling without rewetting intervals should consider other solutions.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Chilly Pad towel for the first time, and what step do people often skip?

Remove the towel from its plastic packaging, wet it thoroughly, then wring out excess water so the hyper-evaporative material can begin cooling through evaporation.

What maintenance will the towel need later if it gets dirty?

Machine or hand wash with standard clothing detergent, then rinse completely before re-wetting to reactivate the cooling effect.

What limit appears first during sustained use on a hot day?

The cooling effect lasts roughly 3 to 4 hours before the towel must be re-wet in hot or cold water and wrung out again.
