The camera measures 4.66" x 4.57" x 2.69" and weighs 0.68 lb without batteries, film or strap, so it slides easily into a small bag. It requires two AA-size 1.5V alkaline batteries, which are not included, and a separate pack of Instax Mini film to operate. The automatic film ejection and a film counter window free the user from manual winding or guesswork about remaining exposures. No external charger, cables or memory cards are needed.

Flash recycles in up to six seconds

The constant-firing flash has a recycle time of 0.2 to 6 seconds with fresh batteries and an effective range of 0.6m to 2.7m. Shutter speed is fixed at 1/60 second and the lens is a 60 mm f/12.7 optic focusing from 0.6m to infinity. A flashing LED indicates the recommended aperture setting for manual exposure selection. The camera powers off automatically after five minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
