Fujitsu 147 GB 15 K RPM SAS drive

This 3.5 inch internal hard drive delivers 147 GB of storage on a 15 000 RPM spindle with a 16 MB cache. The SAS interface supports dual-port operation for enterprise redundancy. It ships new with a mounting tray included.

Suits servers needing fast sequential access

Buyers who want more capacity or a lower noise profile should look elsewhere. Systems without a native SAS backplane or HBA cannot use this drive. Desktop boards lacking SAS connectors are incompatible.

Interface is SAS SCSI-1

The drive presents a SAS SCSI-1 interface that requires a matching controller port. Verify that your chassis backplane or host bus adapter exposes this exact interface before purchase.

Questions about this item

How often will the 15000RPM spindle mechanism need replacement?

Enterprise 15K drives are built for continuous operation; treat any unusual vibration or SMART alerts as a sign to replace the unit.

What limit appears first during sustained 15000RPM operation?

The mechanical spindle speed caps sustained throughput; the 16MB cache absorbs bursts but cannot overcome the physical rotation rate.

How much noise and heat does the 3.5" 15000RPM SAS drive produce all day?

Expect noticeable whine and warm casing; mount in a well-ventilated bay with active airflow to keep temperatures stable.
