Compact USB stereo speaker for desk setups

The FUNLOGY Speaker is a palm-sized bookshelf system that draws power from a USB port and accepts a 3.5 mm auxiliary input. It targets users who want simple stereo sound for a desktop, laptop, monitor or gaming console without installing drivers or pairing wirelessly. The 14 W total output comes from dual 48 mm full-range drivers supported by passive radiators.

30-degree tilt and gold-plated AUX for daily use

Each unit measures 5.2 in deep by 2.71 in wide by 4.3 in high and weighs 0.608 kg, with a matte black finish that resists fingerprints. The fixed 30° upward angle directs audio toward the listener while keeping the footprint small. A 51 in (1.3 m) cable set provides placement flexibility across dual-monitor arrangements, and the gold-plated auxiliary jack reduces contact noise during computer startup or shutdown. Volume is adjusted via a front-mounted rotary dial.

Wired analog connection limits wireless convenience

Because the speaker relies on a USB power source and a 3.5 mm analogue signal, it cannot stream audio over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and offers no digital audio processing features. Buyers who need wireless streaming, multi-room synchronisation or software-controlled EQ will find this model does not meet those requirements. The VGP 2024 award noted by the manufacturer reflects Japanese build quality but does not add wireless capability.

Questions about this item

What does the 3.5 mm auxiliary input cap in practice?

The 3.5 mm auxiliary input carries the audio signal while the USB cable supplies power, so sound quality is limited by the source device's headphone output rather than by the speaker itself.

How much desk depth does the 30° tilted speaker require?

Each unit measures 132 mm deep and 69 mm wide, so the angled footprint fits in roughly 13 cm of desk depth per speaker.

How do you set up the speaker and what step is often missed?

Connect the USB plug to a 5 V port for power and the 3.5 mm plug to the audio jack; the step people miss is selecting this speaker as the default playback device in the operating system.
